My Dad is 60 today!

Love You Dad!

Olivia-ism's (Again)

Olivia is growing up so quickly. She will be 4 next week and there's something new with her every day! (Usually it's something new coming out of her mouth!) Since this is my weblog, I thought I would chronicle some of her "funnies." This is mainly for me to remember, but also some of you may get a laugh or two! (For those of you that follow me on Facebook, sorry... this is a lot of repeats!)

Olivia has been telling us that her panties are in her bottom a lot lately. She is always tugging and pulling and adjusting. Just to be funny, we taught her to say "I have a wedgie!" We explained that people call your underwear in your bottom a "wedgie." The other day we were in the car and everyone was buckled when Olivia started yelling "Stop, don't back out!" I slam the car into park and ask her what is wrong. Her response, "Unbuckle me! Quick! I have a wedgie!" At that moment, Amanda bursts out into baby giggles and cannot stop laughing. That made me laugh and of course, I got out and unbuckled her so she could *ahem* adjust.

On Friday, we were at Chick-Fil-A ordering lunch. I ordered Liv her kids meal with chocolate milk. As she heard me say "chocolate" milk, she piped up and said "Excuse me sir, actually I will have white milk, please." He looked at me and said, "Uh, how old is she?" I said, "She is almost 4." He said, "She just said actually." I know! I know!

Last night I took a shower and got ready for bed fairly early. I put on a t-shirt and pajama pants since I was still going to be up and walking around the house. When we got ready to get in bed for the night, I decided to just sleep in my t-shirt rather than changing into a night shirt. I took off the pants (because I cannot sleep with anything on my legs) and Olivia points at me and says, "Daddy, mommy is wearing her granny shorts again!" (Yes, I was wearing granny panties and she completely called me out!)

***For me, I had to add that when Olivia "squeeze's" something, she does not squeeze it. She "squeaks it!"(I cannot correct her because it is WAY too cute!)***

Adam always says, "Oh my gosh, she is a little Lauren!" I say, "She is me, only better!" And she is.

Weekend Pics

I took a few photos this weekend since I found my camera charger and several people have mentioned wanting to see new pictures of the girls!
Olivia and Daddy Swimming

The only way I can get pics of this one is to keep her confined! She moves around so much when she is not in a swing or highchair!

Princess in Training

Julianna and Olivia

I am about a week behind on my picture postings. This is a photo from last Saturday at Julianna's 3rd birthday. It was a princess party (you probably gathered that) and a swimming party! 2X the fun. All of the kids had a great time and looked "royal" in their attire!

Almost A What???

Olivia learned to use the DVD player today. She can turn the machine on, put a movie in, and push play. She watched several DVD's and always assured me that she knew what to do. Half way through the day she said, "Mommy, I know how to use the DVD player all by myself!" I said, "Yes you sure do!" Her response, "Do you know what that means?" Me, "What?" She says, "It means that I am almost a teenager!"

I am in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!!

Big Sister, Little Sister

I laid Amanda on the bed with Olivia this morning while I got dressed, pulled my hair back, and brushed my teeth. It got very quiet. I walked out of the bathroom and this is what I found...

Olivia had cuddled Amanda up next to her (Amanda is a cuddle bug) and had patted her to sleep. It was the sweetest thing! It gave me the warm fuzzies!

My Young Chef

Olivia loves to help me cook. She is always running into one of the bathrooms to grab a stool and come stand by me while I am chopping, mixing, or baking. When she turned 3, one of her friends (Avery Heiss) got her a gift certificate for a class at the Young Chef's Academy. I have been carrying the certificate around for almost a year and decided we better use it before she turned 4! Last night I took Olivia to her very first cooking class. Needless to say, she loved it! The kids made potato pie and rainbow salad. She was a little nervous at first (threatening to vomit etc...) but she went in after some encouraging and before I knew it, she was a "young chef." She has been asking me all morning when her next cooking class will take place. Look out Rachel Ray!

** I, of course, don't have pictures, but I promise (Grandma) that new pictures will be coming soon!**

The More Things Change...

The more they seem to stay the same.

All the changes that seemed to be coming our way have all been halted for one reason or another. Some signs just can't be ignored. They say that when one door closes another opens up. I have to believe that this is true. I am not sure what is in store for us, but I am looking forward to finding out!

Starting All Over

We found out today that the people who planned to buy our house do not qualify for their loan. They planned to receive gift money from a family member for their down payment and their family member was unable to come through on the gift. I am bummed, of course, but do think that things tend to happen for a reason. I think we will give the house a few more weeks on the market and then re-evaluate. It is a great house in a great neighborhood, so we will see what the future holds.

On that note, we are still trying to sell a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, our house in Round Rock, and my mom's house in Dallas. Anyone know somebody who might be interested?

Purchases, Pickles, and Pee

Olivia made her very first purchase today with her own money. She always wants to buy little trinkets (junk) when we are out shopping, so I told her that we would have to start using her money for her little "treasures!" She decided to buy some silly putty today at Hobby Lobby. She picked out her item, walked right up to the cashier, and pushed it towards the register. I helped her count out her $1.37 and she got her own bag and receipt. She was so pleased with herself. We play "store" all the time at home. She likes to take turns being the cashier and the customer. She always wants me to tell her how much her items cost when I am the cashier and she reminds me to give her the receipt. When she is the cashier, she even knows to ask me debit or credit when I pretend to swipe my invisible debit card. All the ladies at Hobby Lobby giggled when I told them it was her very first purchase "on her own!" They thought she was an old pro! I figure it's never too early to teach her about money. (Especially since she comes from a long line of seasoned shoppers! Her Nana would be so proud!)

Speaking of Olivia, tonight she asked me if she could have some pickled peanuts. I buy almonds to snack on and recently purchased the salt & vinegar flavored nuts. She had some earlier this week and must have related the vinegar taste to that of pickles. She loves pickles and therefore loved the almonds. I never thought of them as "pickled" but was tickled when she wanted her pickled peanuts a.k.a. almonds!

My last Olivia-ism of tonight is about pee. As many of you mommy's know, it is hard to even go potty by yourself when you have kids around. Olivia is always standing right next to me in the bathroom and watching my every move. Tonight she inspected my "pee" and said, "Mommy does your pee look orange?" I said, "No!" She said, "Do you know that if your pee is orange, then you are dehydrated?" Thanks Doc! She is such a little turkey! I don't know where she gets this stuff. Yes, it's true! But huh? Who is teaching her these things?

Mommy's Helper

I recently bought a new DVD for Amanda. She likes classical music and has always done well with the Baby Einstein DVD's, but I was tired of hearing the same one's over and over again. So, I bought a Praise Baby DVD. It is amazing. Anytime she is fussy, I just put the DVD in and she immediately calms down. We have the God of Wonders DVD. I love the music. It works on big kids too. Olivia will sit and watch at least one "round" of the show! Praise Jesus! Praise Baby!
Oh and in case you were wondering, I bought it on...

A Great "Mommy" Moment

Elissa and I took the girls to the park this morning for a walk and then to play in the water park. We walked a couple of trails and then headed over to the water features. I got out Olivia's swimsuit and realized it was actually Amanda's. (That is what I get for buying them matching clothes, right?) So...we made a quick trade. Olivia wore Reagan's 12-18 month swimsuit (booty cheeks hanging out and all) and Reagan wore Amanda's 6-12 month suit. Reagan is so slender that Amanda's suit fit her pretty well. This is just a taste of the many "mommy" moments that I have been having lately. I am beginning to think that I've lost my mind!

Back Aches, House Hunting, And More...

I have been suffering from a tremendous back ache for the last 2 days. (No, I am NOT pregnant. Trust Me!) It is all on one side. The right. I carry A's car seat with that arm, so that may be it. I am just so tired of having an aching back. Ugh!

We have also been house hunting, so I have been carrying A's car seat around more than usual. I never realized how many great houses were our there. I never thought I would say this but, I am tired of looking at houses. *Gasp*

In other news, I am tired of summer t.v. I can't stand the humidity. I am ready for fall.

Sorry for the rant! I have an aching back. I am burning up and nothing is on t.v.!
