One Year

It has been one year today since I lost my mother. On September 18, 2008 at 5:43 a.m., my mother lost her 1 year battle with ovarian cancer. The last year has been long and short and easy and hard. Today is a day to celebrate my mother's life. She fought a brave fight and as someone said recently, in the end, love won!

Liv is 4

Olivia turned 4 on September 8th. I can't believe my first born is 4. She is growing up way too fast. We had her party at the "My Party Palace" in Round Rock. The girls dressed in princess attire, had make-up and nails done, did a fashion show, had a tea party, and made magic wands. Olivia loved every minute. She is definitely a princess!!!

I Just Don't Get It

I just don't get Yo Gabba Gabba! The creatures are weird. DJ Lance is even weirder. And the guest stars??? I know what Biz Markie is doing these days. He is guest starring (if you can call it that) on creeping kids television programs! Anyhow, my kids are obsessed. Amanda stares at the t.v. and Olivia dances with enthusiasm every time Tooty, Flex, Muno, Brobee, and Foofa take to the screen. Ugh!

Liv's First Day of Preschool

I am so delayed in posting. These are pics from Liv's first day in preschool. She did great and seems to love it so far! I am just glad that she likes it and that she is tired when she gets home. It makes nap time and bed time much more pleasant!

It Was The Best of Times, It Was The Worst of Times

It has been another busy week in our house. Liv started preschool (pics to come), I went to Dallas for a funeral, we are having Liv's Princess Palace party and going to Houston.

As for my title, I went to Dallas on Wednesday night to attend the funeral of my friend Jena's dad. I wish that we had travelled for a happier occasion, but it was so good to spend time with some of my very best high school girls! The picture below is at the Davidson's home after the services and reception.
Courtney, Me (Looking Horrible), Jena, Ashley, and Lark
(Lauren G. and Karmen had to leave before we took a pic, but I loved seeing them too!)

Busy! Busy! Busy!

We have been busy, busy, busy. Last week we went to Dallas on Wednesday morning to start preparing my mom's house for the estate sale and move. It was a long 3 days to say the least. We no longer have t.v. there and having 3 kids (Liv, Reags, and A) ages 3 and under roaming around a split level house with no t.v. and limited entertainment is tough! We estimated the we got about 4 hours of work done each day and spent another 4 to 5 hours changing diapers, feeding, diverting, wiping tears, and picking up things that we had already organized but had been "re-organized" by the little people. No naps were had. That's right, none! We were wiped out. I got home on Friday around 4:30 p.m. and Adam's parents got here around 5:30 p.m. to celebrate Labor Day with us.

We had a great visit with Michael and Kathy and now we are off to look at a china cabinet for all of the china and crystal that I have inherited from my mom and grandma. I didn't register for china or crystal when I got married so I am excited to have formal dinnerware! A dinner party might be in my future...ya never know!

Liv will turn 4 tomorrow and we have meet the teacher at her new school. She starts school on Wednesday. I cannot believe it! Time is flying...
