I guess my 50+ votes for Nick (Norman) were not enough to keep him around. I noticed how uncomfortable he looked during the group performance last night. I know that American Idol is really not "his" venue, but I would have liked to have seen where he went on future performances. I guess there is always the wild card round right? How is that going to work this year anyway?
As for the hopefuls that made it through, aside from Nick, they were my favorites! I guess I will have to change my round 2 cheer from "Go Nick!" to "Go Adam!"
I can't wait to see what Scott McIntyre does next week. He and Danny Gokey are really inspiring!

IDOL
All I can say about last night's American Idol is...
Was it worth anyone's time?
I loved Nick (Norman) of course and actually voted for him. (I don't usually vote.)
*And I might have voted for him in excess of 50 times! Oops!
Adam was good too. My Adam thought it was terrible, but he only saw that one performance. (He had a meeting that ran late.) I assured my Adam that Idol's Adam was truly the best of the night as far as the boys went.
Allison was really good, but she was about the only girl that was worth watching for.
The judges praised Megan Joy Corkery but I thought her singing was average and the dancing was really awkward.
Anyway, tonight will be interesting...
Go Norman!

Test
For some reason when I try to look at my blog...it is blank. I am testing with this post. Is it blank to all of you too?
Allergies?
Little Amanda is suffering from allergies (I hope!). She is itchy and stuffy and sneezy. It makes me so sad. One day she will be fine and the next she is all congested again. Today is a congested day. She only wants to be held and cries the second I put her down. I am enjoying holding her, but getting nothing done. I just hope that it is allergies and nothing more serious. (I have a call into the doctor.)
If anyone has any tips...let me know. We have the humidifier going and I have been suctioning her nose and using saline drops. Any other ideas for relief are welcomed!

Pictures and More Pictures
I took Olivia and Amanda to the outlet mall to walk today. It was so nice outside and Olivia likes to ride the little rides. We walked (Olivia and I) until our feet hurt. Amanda slept in her stroller the whole time. She is such a good little shopper! She is sleeping on my chest now so this post will be short. Below are the pictures of Olivia on the rides and a picture of Amanda napping.

LaLa Is...
I took Olivia and Amanda to the mall on Friday for a girls day out! We had lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen and walked the mall.
Most of my days are spent feeding, burping, and changing baby A. I wouldn't change it for the world. Today A and I have been cleaning and organizing Olivia's room while she is at Sarwat's house. (A isn't much help, but she did sleep through the whole thing!) Now we are off to drop off at Goodwill. I can't clean Olivia's room when she is here because even the tiniest toys that she has not touched in months become treasures!
Happy Monday!

I Feel Compelled to Say...
Today would have been my mom's 58th birthday. I have not been to her grave (or her garden, as Olivia calls it) since September and have not sent flowers. I know that "she" is not there, but I do feel bad about it. All that being said, I have to say in a public forum that I am thinking of her today and wishing she was here for some birthday cake and flowers. She was taken way too early, but I am sure that the celebration in Heaven will be more magical than we could have ever done for her here on Earth.
Happy Birthday Mom!

Are You Sleeping?
I have heard that question a lot in the last few weeks. When Olivia was born, I remember crying and asking my mother if I would ever really sleep again. I can remember some long nights with "O," though she was never very colicky.
Amanda, on the other hand, seems to have quite a bit of colic-like discomfort. She sleeps for long periods some nights and then can't seem to sleep at all on other nights. I am usually the one up with her because Adam has to work. I know he would get up and help me if I asked him, but I also know it's important for him to sleep and I can handle it.
The thing is, the not sleeping is okay. I don't know why it's different this time. I am not sure if it's the second baby thing and knowing what to expect or if it was the seemingly easier c-section recovery?
My other thought goes something like this...I got pregnant with Olivia immediately upon wishing for a baby. I was lucky, but somewhat naive. I had no idea how hard it was going to be. This time around I endured months of trying and disappointment, fertility treatments, and a miscarriage before conceiving and carrying Amanda. I think enduring all of that taught me more about patience than anything else. Now when she cries and I am up at night feeling so tired, I look at her and think of what it took to get me to this place. She is completely worth it, as are the sleepless nights!
**Forgive my errors. After all, I am writing on just a few hours of sleep! Wink! Wink!

Back from Hiatus with Some New Pics
We had a very busy week last week. Adam's mom was here to help with Amanda and his brother, wife, and daughters came over the weekend to see little A and to celebrate Valentines Day. We had a great visit. Olivia and Campbell always have a good time together. It was sad when everyone had to leave (on Sunday), but I am getting back into the swing of things here at home.

American Idol
I am so excited that American Idol is back on! Adam and I don't have much in common when it comes to t.v., but we both love American Idol. I have some favorites already...
Adam Lambert
Nick Mitchell a.k.a. Norman Gentle
Scott McIntyre
& Danny Gorkey
I think Simon and Randy are right. The boys are WAY better this season.
I am just so excited to have something fun to watch on t.v. with my hubby!

The Worldwide Big Sister
I found Olivia laying with Amanda today. When she caught me taking her picture, she said "Mom, I am going to be the worldwide big sister!" I knew exactly what she meant. Then as I sat there watching them, I heard her whisper "Amanda, I love you to the moon and back, forever!" What more could a girl ask for?
