Dance Recital 2009

Olivia had 2 dances in her recital this year. The girls did a Tinkerbell ballet routine and a tap routine as well. Olivia was not into the ballet at all. She stood frozen on stage for most of the dance. When tap rolled around, she was less excited to go on stage, but once on stage, she shook her stuff and was totally adorable!

I never could get a very good pic of Olivia (or her classmates) in the tap costume. This was the best I could do!

The girls all got medals at the end of the show and we let Olivia choose whatever she wanted for lunch. Chick-Fil-A! Go figure!

Memorial Day Weekend

I spent most of my Memorial Day weekend cleaning and organizing. My big project was the pantry. It was not planned, so I do not have any before pictures, but these are the after. (Sorry they are not very good, I took them with my cell phone!) If you know me, you know that this is a VAST improvement!

So much for fun lake parties and basking in the sun! How things do change when you have little people!

What We Have Been Doing

We have been playing, playing, playing! Summertime is here in full force. Olivia has been playing with Cooper whenever she gets a chance and the water sports are a big hit with the little ones. My friend Renee sent me tons of cute pics of the kids. These photos are courtesy of her!

And...

Amanda is 4 months old today. She had her 4 month well check and shots. She weighs 13.3 pounds and is 24 inches long. Her head is 42 inches around and the nurse had to measure it twice...again...because it was measuring large. Nothing to worry about, she and Olivia both have big brains. HAHA! She is in the 45th percentile for height and weight and the 60th percentile for head. Just to compare, at this age, Olivia was in the 20th percentile for weight, 10th percentile for height and 95th percentile for head. I knew Amanda's body was sturdier, but I couldn't believe how "small" her head was! HAHA!

She is always smiling, but Renee caught her looking serious on Memorial Day!

We are all a little...

Several nights with a fussy baby have left us all a little worn out!

Pool Pics

I took the girls to the pool for the first time this summer last week, Olivia has been begging to go. It was fun. Amanda slept most of the time and Olivia wore herself out!

Mom's Marker

For some reason, these photos are taking forever to download but they are all virtually the same. I ordered my mom's grave marker a few months ago and was happy to learn that it had been placed. Here are some pics!

Amanda's Baptism

We had Amanda baptized in Dallas on May 17th. It was extra special because Bill Smith, the minister who visited my mother in the hosptial and did her services, baptized her and mentioned that she was named after my mom. The dress Amanda wore was something that my mom and I picked out in the Baylor hospital gift shop in August. My brother and I pushed her around the hospital in her wheelchair and of course, we had to stop in the gift shop. We saw the dress and talked about how cute it would be if only I knew if I was having a baby boy or girl. The next day Dr. Payne gave me my wish and did a sonogram to tell us that baby Amanda was a girl. So, off I went to buy the dress!!!

Little Miss

Adam and Amanda have been hanging out! I found them (him) watching sports the other night and couldn't resist a few pictures. Sports does to her, the same thing it does to me...ZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

Shape Up Shoes

Has anyone tried these? I am interested in knowing if they really work.

Since I've Been Gone...

I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted! We have had a lot going on around here. Elissa and Steve have been in town and have found a house! (This is my biggest, most exciting piece of news!) They will be about 10 minutes away from us in Avery Ranch and I cannot wait. Elissa and I have already started planning her decor and making some small purchases for the new house.

The kids have been playing together and having a great time!

We celebrated our first Mother's Day without my mom. The husband's took us to brunch at Jasper's in The Domain. It was so delicious. The girls had some fun while we were waiting for our lunch! The girls (all 3) were dressed alike in their adorable monogrammed frog dresses that Mina (Steve's mom) made for them. Elissa and I were bad mommy's and forgot to get a group picture!

Adam got me the "Mom" charm for my Tiffany & Co charm bracelet. He was so thoughtful. He said it was to remind me of my mom but also from the girls.

And finally, how sweet is this?

Shoes

I found my shoes! Okay, so they aren't the EXACT ones I was looking for, but...

I went to DSW to try on pair of the Cole Haan Air pumps to make sure that they were as wonderful as I expected. Guess what? No Cole Haan Airs at DSW. Since Marshall's is right next door, I decided to just make sure that they didn't have any there either. I perused the aisles and there were no Cole Haans. Then I went to the Clearance section and tried on a cute pair of gun metal Tahari's and out of the corner of my eye,

I spotted these...

VICTORY!

*No they are not the black peep toed pumps I had my eye on, but neutral works for me!

One pair in the whole store and they were my size! It was destiny! I wore them around the store, just to make sure that they were comfy and then I made them my own. I got them for $205.00 OFF the original price. If you know how much these shoes cost, then you know that I got them for a GREAT PRICE! About 75-80% off. I am so excited. I cannot wait to wear my new shoes!

Note: Olivia loves shoes! When she got home, she went into my closet and inspected all of the shoes (as she does almost daily) and immediately noticed the new pair. She insisted on trying them on and wore them around the house. She loved them too!

This Shouldn't Be A Surprise to Anyone...

I LOVE TORI SPELLING!

Why?

I don't really know, but her first book sTori Telling was quite humorous and interesting (if, like me, you like a glimpse inside the lives of so-called celebrities). I finished Tori's newest literary masterpiece last week and again, she made me laugh and kept my attention for all 2 hours it took me to read the book. If you have some free time, want a quick read, a good laugh and want to know what PUTP stands for or are at all interested in how Luke Perry feels about Tori these days, I would highly recommend it.

Ding Dong Ditch and Lowe's Loyalty

Last night we had 5 little boys between the ages of 7 and 9 ringing our doorbell and running away. Adam and Olivia went to the door several times and finally Adam caught them. He picked up one of the boys and turned him upside down. Olivia had a complete meltdown. She thought Adam was really mad and trying to hurt one of her precious boyfriends. The boys told us that the game is now called "Ding Dong Ditch." I asked the boys if they were ringing our doorbell because they "liked" Livvie and they assured me that it was NOT that! HAHA! Time after time we get glimpses of what our future holds!!!

On another note, Adam finally got his new grill today. Our old grill somewhat "fell to pieces" on the inside and so I told Adam that I would get him a grill for Valentine's Day. We looked around on V-day weekend and didn't find anything. It got put on the back burner for a while and today he decided it was time. He borrowed our neighbor's truck and went to get the grill (fully assembled). He was about half a mile from home when the grill flew out of the back of the truck on a busy main road. It really did fall to pieces and was being dragged behind the truck. He pulled over and called Lowe's. Guess what? They took it back and gave him a brand new one! All they asked in return is that we be loyal Lowe's customers. What customer service! We are usually Home Depot shoppers, but today became lifetime Lowe's shoppers!
